Welcome to music.utep.edu
Greetings from the Department Chair. . .
Lowell E. Graham, D.M.A.Welcome to UTEP's Department of Music. We offer an outstanding education in numerous music disciplines presented by an extraordinary faculty. Music education, music theory, music history, and other traditional courses are designed with your future in mind.

As a performer, you will have many opportunities such as Jazz Ensembles, the UTEP Symphony Orchestra, the UTEP Wind Ensemble, the Symphonic Band, Pandemonium, Chorale and University Chorus, Jazz Singers, Music Theatre, Guitar and Keyboard studies, as well as private lessons that will help build skills that will make you competitive in the market place. In addition, there are multiple performance opportunities with local professional groups and companies.

UTEP is located in El Paso at the Western tip of the state. In fact, we are in a different time zone than the rest of the state. With our Mexican sister city Juarez, whose population is 1.8 million, these two cities combine to form the largest binational metropolitan area in the world. The cost of living is very reasonable as is the cost of your education.

If you want a great education with outstanding faculty, a great community with opportunities, UTEP is YOUR university. Please call, write or email us today - we'll be delighted to talk with you about your future and life at UTEP.

Sincerely,

Dr. Lowell E. Graham
Chair, Department of Music
